So I decided I had nothing else better to do than to redecorate my girls bathroom. (YEAH RIGHT....I just wish that was the case!!!) Honestly though, sometimes when I am in a creative rut I need to step aside and do one of my hobbies that I absolutely LOVE to do....and that is decorating my house. I mean what woman does not love to decorate their house???? Decorating and repurposing is so much fun and the best part is that I am doing it for me and ONLY me. I LOVE LOVE LOVE how their bathroom turned out and they loved it too!!!! (YEA!!!) Here are just a few pics...and how I did the items.
The girls shower curtain!!! I couldn't help myself with this. I have been looking at this shower curtain for a year or two now (stopped counting) just waiting for it to go on sale. I came to the conclusion that Anthropologie was never going to put this one item on sale so I just went for it. I mean this was a focal point of the bathroom....cost is not an issue, right???? Well, my husband didn't think so....he just thought I was crazy. I beg to differ. I will sacrifice for amazing decorating items.
I got this idea from Pinterest... (OH, how I love Pinterest!!!) It was so easy. I painted and distressed two boards and screwed in some mason jars with pipe clamps from Lowes. Turned out great and look cute too!!!
I did these three next frames on one wall. I took some frames I had laying around the house and spraypainted them the colors I wanted. I tore some pages out of a newspaper and had a piece of scrap paper that I loved that I used in the frames. I wrote the wording in Sharpie, framed them and here they are.
The next group of paintings were made out of cards I found and some pieces of wood I had. I took the wood and distressed them, then cut the front of the cards and used upholestry tacks to place them on the boards. Cute and easy, huh???
This next pic is just a pic of a candle I found at Target. It was the perfect candle because it summed up what I was mood I was going for in the bathroom.....HAPPINESS!!!! It was absolutely perfect for this bathroom.
One last thing I made for their bathroom was a necklace holder. A thin piece of wood that I stained and hammered nails in a row down the piece of wood. I distressed the nails and hung the necklaces.
Some other little items I found for their bathroom were jars that I spraypainted the lids and placed everyday used items in them and a distressed painted basket to hold the toilet paper.
Once I was finished I felt rejuvenated and ready to tackle all of my creative projects. There is only one small roadblock now and that is Spring Break. We are headed to the beach so my projects will have to wait a week!!!
Til then.....
